About DomThere is a point in every life where we have to decide what to do and what to aim for. I always liked to draw, write and tell stories, so what was I to do? I looked into design, illustration and movies yet all of these brilliant mediums seemed not to quite cover the urge, the itch that I had. Games are a form of art which allows me to use every shred of experience and skill I have to emerge the observer into a world, designed for its own purpose. And that is my passion, using all of what I am to entertain, to move and to inspire.
I can happily say that I found my true passion in Level Design, for me it is the ultimate combination of gameplay and story telling. The same gameplay mechanic can have a vastly different impact depending on the environment. Who doesn't love a boss encounter on a bridge? Over my years as a creative in the Game Industry I have learned that I thrive with constraints. Constraints are the base of creativity, only if you have a box you can start thinking within and around it. And the best way to come up with the greatest use with boxes is with a team. Even if I work solo, I always seek the feedback of others. For greatness lies not in the one brilliant idea, but in the constant iteration of the good. If I had to describe myself, I would choose: open minded, friendly, enthusiastic, focused and a team player. And sometimes a tad philosophical. (Link to an old Dev Spotlight: Here) |
