Albion Online is a full-loot sandbox MMORPG set in a medieval fantasy world.
​The game features a player-driven economy where nearly every item is player-crafted. Combine armor pieces and weapons suited to your playstyle in a unique, classless "you are what you wear" system.
Explore the world, take on other adventurers in thrilling battles, conquer territories, and build a home.

Feature Owner - Biome Rework
Albion was released 5 years ago, so it was time to give the old graphics and out of date level design a makeover. We redesigned every element of our five biomes, from the smallest foliage colour to the way we placed the biggest boulder. While our old maps were a cluster of randomly assembled templates all screaming for attention, the new maps are designed as a whole, a flowing environment that is memorable and at the same time does not feel repetitive.
Tasks
  • Coordination between Art, QA, Level and Game Design
  • Creation of the Game Design Document
  • Creating Level Design Principles for Map Designs
  • Creating workflow for exchanging old maps with new maps
  • Taking part in the Biome Visual Design alongside the Art Director and Environmental Director

Feature Owner - Hellgate Rework
Hellgates are a high-end PVP feature, where a team of 2, 5 or 10 players enter hell through a gate in the open world to gain valuable loot by clearing levels of hell.
​While in Hell the team can either invade or be invaded by another team of equal size. Only one team can leave hell alive.

The Roads of Avalon are an ever changing network of areas that connect different locations of the world for a short period of time.  No one knows what wonders, battles or riches can be found in the Roads of Avalon or where they might lead.

Reduce Reuse - As the tutorial uses Characters found in Albion Online's Novel "Landfall" by Peter Newman the cover was adjusted and used as loading screen for the Tutorial.

Feature Owner - Outland Redesign
With the constant growing number of players the high end continent "The Outlands" had to be redesigned to create a fair map that offers battle, PVE, objectives and resources for small and large guilds alike.
